"For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory."

### Died to What? Alive in Whom?

"For you died." What a startling, yet liberating, declaration! When we confess Jesus as Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we are united with Him in His death and resurrection (Romans 6:3-4). Paul isn't speaking of a physical death here, but a spiritual one. Our old self, bound by sin, controlled by worldly desires, and enslaved to fleshly impulses, has been crucified with Christ. This is not something we try to do; it's a divine transaction that has already happened for those in Christ. The 'you' that lived apart from God, chasing fleeting pleasures and earthly recognition, is dead.

But this death is not an ending; it's a profound new beginning. Following this declaration, Paul reveals the glorious reality: "and your life is hidden with Christ in God." If our old life is gone, where is our new life? It's not found in self-improvement programs, religious rituals, or striving for human approval. No, our true life – our deepest identity, our security, our purpose, our very essence – is found exclusively and eternally "with Christ in God." Think of it like a treasure hidden in the safest possible place, guarded by the King of the universe Himself. This means our life is secure, eternal, and untouchable by the changing circumstances of this world.

This truth should fill us with immense peace and confidence. Our identity isn't based on our successes or failures, our social status, or what others think of us. It's rooted in Christ, who is in God. When you feel lost, insecure, or overwhelmed, remember this: your life is hidden, safe, and utterly secure in the embrace of the Triune God.

### Christ Our Life, Our Glory

The second verse builds on this profound foundation: "When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory." Notice the magnificent claim: Christ is our life. He is not just a part of our life, an addition, or a guiding principle. He is the very source, sustenance, and sum of our existence. He is the breath in our lungs, the hope in our hearts, the purpose in our days. To live is Christ (Philippians 1:21).

This transforms everything. If Christ is our life, then how we live today should reflect Him. Our thoughts, words, and actions should flow from this life-giving union. We are called to "set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on the earth" (Colossians 3:2), precisely because our life is hidden there with Him.

And what a future awaits us! "When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory." This points to the Second Coming of Jesus, a glorious event we eagerly await. When He returns, not only will His divine majesty be fully revealed to all creation, but those whose lives are hidden in Him will also be revealed with Him in glory. We will share in His triumph, in His honor, in His eternal radiance. This isn't a promise of individual glory apart from Him, but a participation in His glory, reflecting His light perfectly.

### Living from This Truth Today

What does this mean for our Tuesday? It means we don't live for ourselves, for temporal gains, or for the approval of others. We live from the reality that our old self is dead, our new life is in Christ, and our future is secured in His glorious return. This perspective reorients our priorities, empowers us to resist temptation, and fills us with enduring hope.

Let this truth sink deep into your soul today. You are a new creation. Your life is not your own; it is hidden, safe, and eternally bound to Christ in God. And one day, you will shine with Him in glory. Live in light of this astonishing reality!"
