Exhaustion

Bible Verses for When You Are Weary & Burned Out

You are not sad exactly. You are empty. You have been the strong one for a long time.

Breathe in

Put your shoulders down. Nothing on this page needs anything from you.

Today’s verse for exhaustion

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30

Read the rest slowly

1 / 6

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30

Rest for your soul, not only your body. That is the part sleep cannot reach.

2 / 6

And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
Exodus 33:14

3 / 6

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Psalm 55:22

Sustain means He keeps you standing when you have no reserve left.

4 / 6

My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
2 Corinthians 12:9

Your empty is not disqualifying. It is where His strength shows up clearest.

5 / 6

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Galatians 6:9

6 / 6

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Isaiah 40:29

A word from Pastor Stan

Burnout usually means you have been carrying a load that was never assigned to you. Jesus offers a trade, not a pep talk: His yoke for yours. Practically, that looks like saying no to one thing this week, telling one person the truth about how tired you are, and taking a real day off. Rest is obedience, not weakness.

Pray this, as it is

Jesus, I am tired down to my bones. I bring You the load I have been carrying alone. Trade me. Give me rest in my soul, and teach me how to live at Your pace. Amen.

You don’t have to read alone.
